Drag grew out of necessity for me, really, I was underage and wanted to get into the Oklahoma City clubs. I had a baby face which meant that at 19 I looked 12 and after being booted from Gushers on a borrowed ID, I decided to do drag. Suddenly, I could get into Saddle Tramps, Gusher and Angles but most of the time I was at the Wreck Room which was the 18 and over club. My best friends took to makeup like fish to water and before long the three of us were bespeckled, sparkly and hair teased to the gates of heaven. It was a great time for colors since it was the 80s. It came to an end after leaving OU, I joined the Navy and didn't do any drag throughout the 90s. When I returned to drag, it was with a smile at the alternative drag hotspot Trannyshack which is amazing but the weekly show is soon coming to an end... which makes me sad.
