So, I'm in the process of moving in with my boyfriend , we have been together for well over a year now. It's kinda killing because I just got my flat the way I wanted it.
As far as RuPaul's Drag Race goes, I guess I will see you next year!!! I'm sure most of you got a nice letter in the mail thanking you for all the work we have put into this casting process, and on top of all that it was signed by RuPaul her self!!! That was so hot.
Any who the show must go on in my life, so I have not canceled any booking due to the show, and I'm working on new projects, because of the fire this casting call has put under me.
I plan on posting every now and then on here to fill you all in on up coming events.
If you are a show director and would love to book me for parties, clubs, and any other special event contact me at; SoniqueATL@hotmail.com (subject "Booking"). or hit me up on Myspace.com/s0nique.
Until next time...
XO-Sonique
Is this whole thing for real or what??? One week they say one thing, and the next week, its completely different. Kinda like the TOP 25. I give mad props to all the girls who have gotten a call back. I know Rupaul says she seen the audition tapes and can't wait for the 15 contestants they picked.
My country ass didn't know what the fuck a drag queen was until like 7 years ago. Look at the bitch now. Auditioning for Rupaul to be on a TV show so she can find the next drag superstar. I think its pretty wicked.
Speaking of drag , I know I'm not your everyday 300lbs hairy chested guy try to seal you Donna Summers. I think that is not what all drag should be. I think a person creates there character based on the way they came out, what influenced them to make that BIG step.
We all have our #1 DIVA, that when no ones around we blast as loud as we can, and turn a number for the mirror in the bedroom.
I don't think the casting directors and the producers of the show got to see the best side of me. This whole video audition was something I have never in my life done. My friend has a camera, and he has never edit a audition tape. We were so confused on how they wanted edited. Now I look back at it , and the tape is missing all they BEST qualities about who I am in and out of drag.
I have a fierce drag collection that I have produce on my own , I have stories of my crazy past, form being abused as a child to having have over 5,000 people stand to there feet twice during a single drag performance. I have learned a lot about life, just by giving my self to this craft. I know drag saved my life, there is no telling where I would be at today, had I not try my girlfriends wig on almost 7 years ago.
I don't need to put on a facade to be famous, I very talented outside of drag . I'm a very athletic, I'm into all kinds of sports. I'm a singer, a dancer, artist, designer, and the list goes on .
I consider myself to be a tom/boy drag queen. You know the girl that is so cute, but if she were to just put on a dress she could a princess? Some of my biggest inspiration comes from strong women such as Tank Girl, Joan Jett, Pink, Pippi Longstocking, Buffy, Grace Jones, Fergie, and last but not least my mother.
A lot of people don't realize that drag is so much more than just showing up at a gig doing a number for a bunch of drunk hillbillies. I give back to my community when ever they need me. I make a living off drag but there a several shows a year I give my talent to raise money for AIDS research, a sick love one/ legend as well as homeless, the gay youth that have nowhere to go and for any drag queen that is trying to raise money to do a pageant. I believe in everyone of those people who needs my help, and I'm blessed that I have food in my stomach, roof over my head and a community that believes in me.
For all this is worth I'm not your everyday drag queen, so please don't ask me where to find a bump. I don't drink I don't smoke and I do not do drugs. All I ask is to tip a bitch when you are living for her.
XO-Sonique
