SO YOU WANNA GLIMPSE INTO TATI'S LIFE?

where to begin? well...i was born and raised in nothern virginia...right around the corner from washington DC. my mother is italian and my father was black. my mom was a single teen mother who raised me for the most part on her own. i remember watching her in the morning putting on her makeup and doing her hair...thats probibly why i started playing around in makeup so young. i started getting into drag around 5th or 6th grade. i would watch MTV and try to recreate the looks and moves i saw in the music videos. music has always been and will always be a HUGE part of my life.

the first time i stepped outside in full drag i was 14 and was in 8th grade. it was really great experience. so great in fact that i started going out and going to school in drag every time i got bored. this is when i really started to create my alter ego TATIANNA. i actually chose my name by goin through my collection of music and coming across tatianna ali's cd. the name just kinda stuck from there on out.

aside from drag im a makeup artist for the best makeup company of all time...im sure you all know who im talking about. the first drag show i ever did was actually not that long ago...it was in december of 2007. i had seen a drag review in one of the most popular gay clubs in DC...APEX. the show was great and the head queen was hilarious. so i thought to myself "i could sooo do this!". i had been in many talent shows as a dancer and had been doing drag for years. so i basicly harrased the head queen of the show...also known as the fabulous kristina kelly, and asked to be booked for a show. she agreed and the show went better than i would have ever expected. the feeling of being on stage, dancing, getting people hyped, and jus having a blast was GREAT!

i have quite few influences and inpirations in what i do. of course the beautiful and legendary RU PAUL! she was actually one of the first gay people and drag queens i ever saw or heard of. i also am very inspired by the late AALIYAH. i was in love with all of her music and just the way she carried herself. she to me was soo classy but yet extremely sexy. another huge influence of mine is the princess of pop...MISS BRITNEY SPEARS! her high energy dance moves and beautiful hair and make up completly gave me a lesson of how to bring my all to the stage.

you all have no idea what this race means to me. i've been waiting for ever for an opportunity like this to pop up...and now that it's here...i refuse to let it pass me by! i not only want to do this for me...but for any other person harrased, bullied, or hurt for being who they are. though later in life i was lucky enough not to be pushed around for who i was...do belive i have had my fair amount of getting picked on, beat up, and put down.
